The Art I students have been learning about the definition and expressive qualities of a line.  A line is a continuous mark made on a surface with a pointed, moving tool; a path of a dot through space.  Lines can be curvy, fluid, thick, thin, abrupt, vertical, horizontal, diagonal, and zig-zag.  Lines can be used to express anger, peacefulness, balance, repetition, and harmony.  Lines can divide, connect, outline, and intersect.  In this assignment, students created curvy lines that varied in proximity to one another.  In some areas the lines are drawn closer together to make the area recede into the background, and in other areas the lines are drawn further apart to appear to be in the foreground.
